What are you afraid of?

What are you afraid of?

You have nothing to fear! Your prayers have been heard! God’s promises will be fulfilled at the proper time. The day is coming when you will say “How kind the Lord Is! The Lord has done this for me.”

You have nothing to fear, the Lord is with you! The word of God will never fail. The Lord’s hand is upon you in a special way. Exchange your fear for joy – The Savior – yes the only one who can deliver you from your sin, the Messiah, was born in Bethlehem. There is no need to worry – He is risen from the dead!

Come and confess your regrets, your sins, and accept the Savior’s gracious gift of forgiveness. Yes those bad and terrible things that have happened in your past are forgiven! As far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed he things you should have said and done, but didn’t and the things you shouldn’t have said and done but did.

Hallelujah! You are forgiven! At just the right time, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law to buy you freedom from slavery to the law, so that he could adopt you as his very own child. Since you are God’s child, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your heart, enabling you to cry out “Abba, Father”. As God’s precious child you are an heir of God and joint heirs with Christ. (Gal 4:4-7; Rom 8:17)

Lay at the foot of the cross your past, your shattered dreams, your wounded heart and broken toys. Allow Christ to fashion you into the person he created you to be. Surrender your self-centeredness and pride, your dreams, your hopes and fears to the Lord of the universe and you will find true peace and joy.

Cast your burdens, your sorrows, your hopes and dreams, your pains and frustrations upon the Lord and take up his burden, for his burden is light and his yoke is easy. He knows how your children are behaving, he knows the financial strain that you are under, he knows about your health problems, he knows about the stress at your workplace, and in each of those situations there is good news of great joy – today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.

Jesus grew up to become a man, and was tempted in the same ways you are, yet he was without sin. (Heb 4:15) Therefore he can help you resist the temptations in your life. Yes you will stumble, yes you will fall, but Christ walks beside you and will pick you up when you fall. There is no room for self-pity, regret, guilt, remorse or resentment as you walk in the fear of the Lord, and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

Join with the angels in declaring “Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth to those on whom his favor rests”. May your heart be at peace in your relationship to God. May Christ enable you to be at peace with other people. May your heart be filled with joy, and overflowing with love.

Hallelujah! The Lord has come to be with you here and now today, in each and every situation that you find yourself in. He is Lord over diapers, dirty dishes, homework, colds, sickness, cancer, work, bills, taxes, accidents, hockey games, phone calls, email, meetings, co-workers, managers and the myriad of other activities in your daily routine.

He is Lord wherever you go. If you rise on the wings of the dawn, or settle on the far side of the sea God’s hand will guide you, and his right hand will hold you fast. (Ps 139:9-10).

What a privilege and relief to live your life moment by moment in the realization that Christ is the Lord of your life. Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Christ our Lord (Col 3:17).

Don’t allow yourself to be cheated out of peace and joy today by planning and preparing for every contingency so that you cannot hear the baby born in Bethlehem say to you “I know the plans I have for you … plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope (Jer 29:11).

Firmly and confidently place your future in your Savior, Messiah and Lord’s hands where it belongs.
